Kira Crugnale (b. 1989) is a Canadian-born photographer living and working in the United States. Graduating with a BFA in photography from the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Image Arts in 2011, Kira has a diverse background in visual communications and has worked with a variety of internationally recognized clients from Joe Fresh to Jack Daniel’s.
Drawing on familial experiences to explore ideas of cultural tradition and ideology, her work is concerned with recognizing the intimate identities of objects and spaces. Shooting in a mixture of analog and digital formats, her photographs are characterized by their bold use of light, attention to detail, and sense of playfulness.
